Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Waymo Autopilot Cooperation

According to reports, RenaultNissan – MITSUBISHI Union and autopilot car research and development company Waymo signed a cooperation agreement on the commercialization of automatic driving vehicles. In the future, the two sides will cooperate in the commercial operation of autopilot. Waymo and Reynolds-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance said they would start the autopilot business in France and Japan.

Due to the different laws and regulations in auto-driving business and traffic in different countries, Waymo and Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance will investigate the market prospects and topics and expand the possibility of commercialization. Due to the relevant regulations and market environment, the autopilot service in the Malaysia market is still limited.

Currently Waymo has launched an unmanned taxi service on highways in Arizona, USA. Its fleet has ordered 20,000 Jaguar I-Pace electric vehicles, and the traffic data obtained will also be used. In addition to Waymo, GM Cruise is expected to launch the first autopilot in 2019. In addition, Uber is also developing unmanned carpool services, hoping to achieve the commercialization of autopilot.
